West Oakland native & debut author Ruben Llamas is returning to his former Latino barrio also know as "the old neighborhood" in Oakland, CA.
Come in for no host lunch prior to this event, mingle with friends & family to share memories and stories. Copies of the newly published book will be available for purchase. Book signing from 2-4pm. A short reading from the book as well as a Q & A from 2:30-3pm. This is the first full length memoir written from a Latino perspective about West Oakland from the 1930-70s. Please join Tina Tamale Ramos and her family at their shop, La Borinquena Mex-icatessen, one of the few remaining landmarks from this historic era for an afternoon of memories.
