Doesn't matter how heavy the workload, what the weather's like or if I have friends in tow or not, there is always time for Happy Hour!I tend to head for the spots that also have food generally small plates to nibble on with my adult beverage of choice. While the time range on these vary quite a bit, I tend to show up between 5-6pm to score a seat and hang out for awhile. Here are my neighborhood haunts.
Penelope at the corner of 11th & Clay on the border between Old & Downtown Oakland, Tung & Johnny always have a list of specials at the end of the bar. Creative original cocktails and bar bites.
2022 Restaurant & Bar (formally know as AVE) 2022 Telegraph Ave on the backside of the Paramount Theater Stop by and say hello to Gairy, Robert or Mesfin and partake in some drink and small plate specials.
Levende at 8th & Washington in Old Oakland This one ends at 6pm so don't be late! Many of the regular appetizers show up in bar bite sizes and the beer special is pretty good.
